About Colorado Springs (COS)
Colorado Springs is the most populous city of El Paso County, Colorado, United States. It is located just east of the geographic center of the state and 61 miles (98 km) south of the Denver. At 6,035 feet (1839 meters), the city sits over one mile above sea level, though some areas of the city are significantly higher. Colorado Springs is situated near the base of one of the most famous American mountains, Pikes Peak, at the eastern edge of the southern Rocky Mountains.
Getting around UCCS & Colorado Springs
Free shuttles are provided about every 10-15 minutes to transport students to and from main campus. Shuttles are in operation during the fall, spring, and summer semesters Mon-Fri from 6:40a to 10:35p. UCCS also operates other on-campus shuttle routes to connect other outer perimeter lots to main campus. All shuttles are equipped with wheelchair access and bike racks.

The Mountain Metropolitan Transit (METRO) offers public transportation with stops in and around the university and the surrounding areas of Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs.
